--Sheet from an untitled series
The oiran (high-ranking courtesan) Sado, seated on a bench, in her right hand a brush for painting her teeth, observes her two shinzo (courtesans in training) Shikibu and Kichijo as they play sugoroku (a sort of Backgammon). This indian board game came to Japan by way of China during the Nara period.
Unsigned, like most sheets from series by Okumura Masanobu in which only the last page was signed.
